Cicely LaMothe Named Deputy Director, Disclosure Operations, for The Division of Corporation Finance
Washington, D.C.–(Newsfile Corp. – February 14, 2023) – The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that Cicely LaMothe was named Deputy Director, Disclosure Operations, for the Division of Corporation Finance, effective Feb. 12, 2023. Ms. LaMothe served as the Acting Deputy Director for Disclosure Operations since August 2022.
“Cicely has held a range of leadership roles within the Division of Corporation Finance, and I am pleased that she will continue her work as Deputy Director for Disclosure Operations,” said SEC Chair Gary Gensler. “I look forward to working with Cicely and her colleagues across the Division to help ensure that investors get the full, fair, and truthful disclosures they need to make informed investment decisions.”

Ms. LaMothe has held a variety of senior leadership roles in the Division of Corporation Finance since joining the Commission in 2002, including Program Director of the Disclosure Review Program, Associate Director of the Office of Assessment and Continuous Improvement, and Associate Director of Disclosure Operations. In 2020, Ms. LaMothe received the Chairman’s Award for Excellence in recognition of her work on the SEC Diversity Council to support the Commission’s diversity and inclusion efforts. Before coming to the SEC, Ms. LaMothe worked for six years in the private sector, including as the financial reporting manager for a public company and as a senior associate with a national accounting firm. Ms. LaMothe earned her bachelor’s in accounting from Hampton University and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.
